We were just amazed by the view from the hostel. The dorms are semi-outdoors, but we felt completely safe and also the temperatures at night were pleasant. Sham and her husband put so much effort into this place. There are so many chill out places on the property with incredible views that you almost don‘t want to leave this place. The hostel also offers delicious breakfast and dinner.

We like the hospitality, the kindness of the hosts, they are very helpfull and very attentive to their customers. The place is awesome with a wonderful view. It is in the mountain, in the nature, you have a lot of walks possible, and you have tea trees everywhere. You can walk to reach some beautiful places around. It is a wonderful place you can see animals and hear the birds. The food is the best meal we had in Sri Lanka. Honestly it would be a mistake to not taste it. Thank you for everything it was much more than expected.

Super welcoming host - I was offered a cup of tea at arrival :-) and several times during my stay. New hostels - all very functional, nice, clean and tidy. Very good location. The provided towels are really good!! (I experienced no towel or really old one in other hostels). Central without being in the middle of the noisy pubs/night clubs… Definitely recommend!

We had an amazing stay at 4 Axes Hotel! The food was delicious with both Sri Lankan and Western options. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after exploring Ella.

The host Dilan is an exceptionally kind and caring person. He cooks great meals at a good price. Considering the hostel is around 30 minutes walk from the city, it is a big bonus to be able to have dinner without going out at night. As well you can buy water same prices as in supermarkets - no need to carry from outside! The beds have curtains for privacy - unlike most hostels in Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Dilan offers tuk tuk rides at a good price - once again, no need to book from outside.
