We had an incredible stay at Kottamba Villa in Tangalle! From start to finish, our host Lushan went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. The family are so lovely and kind, made us breakfast and dinner each day, gave me a scooter to rent and helped us with transport recommendations etc. I will definitely be back!

The host and location were fantastic, situated right by the entrance to Medaketiya Beach with safe swimming area and close to the stunning Mangrove Beach and national parks. The service was unexpectedly excellent, and the breakfast offered a variety of delicious options for the price. Best lassi in this area.

Just everything! This is a brand new hostel and they thought about everything a traveller needs to make themselves comfortable. The beds, the showers, the lounge area, the amazingly well equipped kitchen (literally everything is in there and it’s all clean and easy to use, I want a kitchen like that at home seriously!). And the staff, they are so sweet and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The location is perfect, you will be in the ocean by 6 am because it’s so close. The hostel doesn’t organize activities (yet) but the setup of the hostel is made to make socializing very easy. We ended up having dinner with all the guests almost every night. So don’t hesitate, book it!

This is single 8 bed dorm joined to a beautiful cafe. The dorm beds are cleaned everyday and are super modern and comfortable. Wished I could’ve stayed longer - maybe best value for money in Hiriketiya. The staff are also so welcoming and accomodating.

The staff was one of the kindest i have met, i was stung by a sea urchin a day ago and Tamara helped ne clean it. She was just a sweetheart all along. Also wifi was pretty good, bfast as well, and the place was clean a maintained.

This was one of my favourite hostels in Sri Lanka! It feels like family there, the hosts are so kind and help with everything. We hang together every evening, talking or playing pool, we had a great time! Also the rooms are super clean and even when there are problems with electricity, the hosts will find a way to solve the problem. Beds were comfortable, i highly recommend this hostel!

The lady that hosted us was very friendly and welcomed us with an amazing papaya juice :D We had our privacy upstairs and had a nice kitchen with dining area and a terrace to relax. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet with a 5 minute walk to Blue Beach and 10 - 15 minutes away from Hirikiteya Beach. Recommended if you are travelling on a budget!

I had a great time staying here! I am hoping to return again during my travels. The hostel has an amazing atmosphere and Azza the owner is a really great guy and arranges many activities. This place seems to attract really chill, fun and cool people, so a great place to stay to meet people if you are traveling solo! Would 100% definitely recommend staying here!😍

This is a very cool place to stay. It's basically a shack (we stayed in the private double room) but it's very comfortable, we had sockets and even a fan. It rained pretty heavy the night we were there and we were nervous about our luggage getting wet but it stayed completely dry! It has a hostel vibe with shared facilities but was kept very clean!! The location is great - very close to Hiriketiya beach and there is even a wonderful restaurant right in front of the property overlooking the sea. Wish we stayed here longer!!!
