Everything was wonderful. The staff were really helpful, and they spoke fluent english. The room had just been renewed and everything smelt new. They had amazing decoration, probably with the help of a local designer. They are also pioneers in putting towels as a blankets. Sandakan has been the best stop of my 2 years trip in Malaysia. Wish I could have stayed longer...

This is a spiffy, well-run lodge with great staff, convenient location and a wide variety of accommodations. We had one night in a mixed dorm and another night in a deluxe room. Both were excellent rooms and good value. I liked being a 10-minute walk away from the Rainforest Discovery Center. Special thanks to Ling for her helpful information and generous hospitality.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
