The owners have created a paradise in Balgue. Loved every bit of it and I think they are travellers themselves because some details were already arranged in the rooms and the facilities. We absolutely love Zopilote! The place has a very special vibe where you can find amazing people. The food is great and the permaculture farm is super fascinating. We didn't even leave the place for the first couple of days and look forward to coming back!

I got here by accident, after being traumatised by seeing a scorpion in the bed of another place I was about to check in prior. Super happy I got to this place, it deserves 10 ++! The dorm for 25 dollars was an absolute amazing experience, you could hear the waves, it felt like you were on a cruiseship! Dorm is spacious and very comfortable.the bunk beds were designed in a very practical way that gives you a lot of comfort.you have dedicated space and locker in the bed itself for extra stuff to put in there. The room is big, airy, high ceilings, lots of natural light. The building is made of concrete walls and windows, which prevents scorpions from coming in like the wooden houses would. Not sure if the shower had hot water or I didn't know how to turn it on. There are events every night. People at the restaurant and reception very friendly and polite.I wish they had more Nicaraguan food and less international mixes, but you can always go find places to eat outside. At night it is pitch dark on the road, so make sure you are accompanied/have a flash on you.

Staff was very nice and super helpful. Food at the hostel is very good, the view is awesome and location exellent. I higly recommend this hostel.

Incredible place to stay in Ometepe - very quiet and right at the lake, but still close to the main town and the ferry. The owners are extremely welcoming. Both the breakfast and dinner were phenomenal- especially if you’re Eastern European longing for a meal to remind you of home. They have their own bananas and other fruit, homemade marmalade, bread etc. The room was clean and spacious, and the whole property is beautiful. Would definitely come back!

Beautiful hostel, friendly and helpfull staff, all well organized, clean rooms, comfy bed, high speed internet and fantastic food. Bar with biggest selection of beers I saw in Nicaragua. What more could one want?
