It was very cosy , and very close to train station .We liked the bar downstairs and the whole property had amazing facilities .Everyone staying was really nice to us and the staff were lovely and so helpful :)

Each room in the Bundessport- und Freizeitzentrum Obertraun has a private bathroom and a satellite TV. This is a wonderful location and fine facility to use as a base for exploring Hallstatt and Dachstein-Krippenstein, both of which are just a few minutes drive away. The staff were incredibly friendly (including when we were about 20 minutes late for our check-in and a kind lady stayed late to meet us). Our family of 5 stayed in two rooms, which were large and very clean. They were essentially nice dorm rooms, each with 3 single beds and a private bath. It is a pretty location with nice views of the mountains. We also appreciated the parking available for our rental car. Hallstatt is about a 5 minute drive up the road. Because we were so close, we were able to get to Hallstatt early in the day to find a good parking spot in Park Platz 2 (very near the funicular up to the salt mine) before the crowds arrived.

Located at the foot of the Dachstein Mountain, Jutel Obertraun is 4 km from Lake Hallstatt. A ski bus stops in front of the property and provides good connections to the ski areas Dachstein West and Gosau-Rußbach-Annaberg. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Easy to find, friendly staff, good breakfast (but only from 8-9am), excellent location near Hallstatt and Dachstein, comfy beds. Nice little community areas to hang out or eat. Free parking.
