Location was great, 5 min to the beach, 12-15 min to the port and about 18 min to the station, but there is a bus stop near by that goes to the station. You can see mt. Fuji on a clear day on the street where the guesthouse is. Very special place, I would like to stay again.

Attractively situated in the Shimizu Ward district, this hostel is set 17 km from Shimizu Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 49 km from Rengejiike Park Fuji Festival. This was by far my favourite stay on my Japan trip. The hostel is incredibly comfortable and peaceful located in a small, quiet village. The owners are very kind and easy to communicate with. I was welcomed by the owner’s wife, who was very kind and spoke English well, so it was easy to communicate even though I don’t speak any Japanese. I got clear instructions on how to check in, what to do in the area, etc. What really stood out is how incredibly clean the hostel was. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, as was the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with rice, tea, sauces available for use. The convenience store is literally next to the hostel, so it was also easy to buy groceries and there was a microwave, rice cooker, hob and kettle all available in the hostel. The shower was great (amazing water pressure) and they had towels, as well as other cosmetic products available at the reception. The beds were large and comfortable and the room was a good size. Overall, I could not have imagined a better stay and for the price, it was definitely worth it. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I highly recommend this hostel!

Staff was very kind and helpful. We arrived late and he prepared the bath for us. We didn't need to go to Ryokan to enjoy a Japanese inn and onsen. The place was clean and beautiful Japanese style house with tatami. The hostel was right next to the train station, that is a huge bonus for us when we overslept and almost kissed the train. We definitely will come again in the future.

I asked for staff's recommendation for local onsets and he made some very good suggestions which cannot be searched online. The bath in the hostel is new. I wanted to go to sonsen the next day after check out. And I waited until fireworks. The staff is very kind and let me put my luggge until 9pm. He also reminded me of the busy transportation after fireworks.
