Place was run down. Room was dry, stained bed linen, stained metres, dirty toilet. Have seen very little attention to health and safety in rooms (wires were exposed next to the wall mounted fans). We were told that the Kitchen was closed (have however seen some other hotel guests having food in the restaurant)☹️

Chilled place to stay. The Kataragama temple is across the road, literally! If your on pilgrimage this place is excellent. Super vegetarian food too. Cheap and cheerful. They have a man Friday called Raju. Ask by name, super helpful.

I loved the authenticity of the place and the people here. Chilled backpacker vibes. Roberto is a great host ensuring a very warm welcome to guests offering tea etc . Loved the rustic architecture , very much in tune to surrounding Nature complimented with the animals on site. Lodge is set by the river so you can go for a dip and cool down. And ample space for you to relax, read and do yoga.
