This was one of my favorite stays of my trip, I almost wished I had a longer stay. They also had a bit of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack weaved into the mix of music playing and I LOVED IT. Nice quiet songs I think even a non fan could appreciate and just alternated in there a bit with their other music. For me it created such an amazing atmosphere. If I ever manage to make my way back to Tekapo I'd love to stay here again

The hostel is a 5-minute drive from Church of the Good Shephard and a 14-minute drive from Mt John University Observatory. Nice views, clean rooms, kitchen well equipped

All guest rooms at the hostel come with a flat-screen TV and a kitchen. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower and a hairdryer, some units at 6 Erebus Lodge also have a mountain view. Guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. Everything was amazing about this property, easy to locate and we had a lovely warm cozy room with the most outstanding, breathtaking view. Shared kitchen, lounge facilities were lovely and everything you could need was available to you. Sharing this space with other guest was nice and everyone was very accommodating and respectful of each other. Loved everything about our stay here. When we arrived we were only booked for one night. But it became obvious to my husband and I that it would not be enough. We called the number and spoke with a lovely lady and she allowed us to book the next night. Two nights was what we had and it was the best for me on my whole trip. We travelled to Mt Cook, Wanaka and Queenstown. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation. I do feel the name lets it down a little as there was nothing budget about our stay. Thank you so much for sharing your place.

Great location—super convenient for exploring the area! The stay was okay, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the facilities and experience. The staff was kind.
