The property offers a range of accommodation from budget dormitories to private rooms spread over 3 lodges and complimentary unlimited WiFi. The room was clean and comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. Nice cafe downstairs, friendly staff and a great hot tub/sauna. Laundry facilities also good. It was a short walk into the town centre. We were there just after the summer holidays and it was great value for money.

Set in National Park, 15 km from Mount Ruapehu, National Park Backpackers offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. The place is very clean. The beds are very comfortable and bedding was clean. I was super tired and hoped to get a good comfortable bed to lay on..and I did! Came very late and found instruction of where my room was. That was so thoughtful of them. I loved loved loved the place!

The lodge is bright and colourful. We had our own bunk room which was close to the bathrooms. The kitchen was big with lots of utensils. Great location for anyone doing the Tongariro Crossing or exploring the National Park. Adjacent bar was fun to pop in to and staff at both the hostel and bar were very friendly. Can highly recommend catching sunrise, the stars and sunset.

This was excellent for the cost. It is a 'backpacker' type accomodation but was clean, cosy, everythinng worked well, staff were very helpful. If you are on a budget you will be very pleased, if you just like to save you will be very happy here. If you want luxury look elsewhere. But clean comfortable quiet handy, this is great. We are mid 60's and could easily pay more but like to save and we liked it and would stay here again.

Clean room with beds made. Towels provided. Friendly helpful staff and excellent security measures meant I felt safe. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast at the cafe was not cheap but worth every penny. Delicious and nicely laid out cafe.

Honestly, the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The owners were the most welcoming, loving and caring people. They made sure to talk to everyone, they even remembered the names of every single person who stayed there at the moment. The whole place was super clean and well kept. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking. The living room is amazing to hang out, watch tv, play games or get to know the other guests (and make some new friends!). Would highly recommend staying there. You would not be disappointed!

This is our second stay here. It was great coming back and knowing the facilities. The beds were very clean and comfortable and the room was clean. We used the communal kitchen and it had everything we needed. We enjoyed chatting to some nice Danish backpackers over dinner. We had brought supermarket provisions with us and we could easily pop to local shop for any small items. Stunning views of mountains. Cheapest option by far too!
