Taupo is an absolute mecca for all things outdoors – including hiking the famous Tongariro crossing, trout fishing, skydiving, jet boating, white water rafting, mountain biking and sailing on the Great Lake with the hostel's yacht 'Fearless'. Sara at the front desk of was very friendly and helped us book our shuttle for the crossing. I liked the privacy of the bunks and the locker availability in the room.

Guests at the hostel will be able to enjoy activities in and around Waitomo Caves, like hiking. We didn't actually stay here as I had booked the wrong type of accommodation for us 3 older ladies. We needed 3 separate beds, an ensuite, and a small kitchen facility. The lovely lady at the desk however rang a motel in Otorohanga for us and booked us in there, which was much appreciated. So a big thanks to the lovely lady at the front desk.
