I'm 37, and built Doug's Mountain Getaway with the purpose to help guests explore one of the best locations in the Alps from a different style of accommodation, which offers more. I love games, beautiful building materials, gadgets, technology, comfort, and sharing fun, happy times with loved ones - so I integrated all of that into your apartment :) Oh, and of course I also love sports and activities, which is why I bought a massive range of kit for you to use, from volleyballs to sledges to rock climbing gear to beach games... The range of things you can do around here is mind-blowing!

Luxury penthouse near Schlick 2000. Huge, south-facing rooftop terrace with heat-lamp, dining, grill and lounge furniture. Stunning mountain and forest views from the multitude of windows. Inside boasts a top-quality kitchen and dining area plus a gaming, chill and sleeping area in a cosy den in the new rafters. Indulge in the dreamy sofa and chaise by Bretz, and zen table by Sisyphus. Two stunning bedrooms; two Italian granite bathrooms; one day bed; one enormous hammock net; one snug; a lot of fun. Cosy underfloor heating throughout. A roaring fireplace. Triple-glazed, floor to ceiling, sliding glass doors to a terrace with unrivalled views. Tell Alexa to turn on Spotify and Netflix for you through the 50 inch Samsung Frame TV and Sonos 5.1 speaker combination. Or, to get away from it all, climb up into the snug and indulge in 4-Player Goldeneye or Mario Kart on the N64. There's a wine fridge built into the Black-Scorpion’ granite kitchen, along with Miele, Kitchen-Aid and SMEG appliances. Why not fall asleep gazing at the stars under the large ceiling windows - and wake up to them opening automatically at your chosen time (rather than that disappointing alarm noise you're used to!

Neighbourhood information

The location is hard to beat. It's nestled within one of Austria's most spectacular valleys, Stubaital, and surrounded by some of the country's highest peaks and top ski resorts. It's a 10 minute drive from Innsbruck (dubbed 'the heart of the Alps'), and is abundant with adventure activities of all kinds from Olympic bobsleigh to paragliding right over the village. The 100km+ of pistes in the valley's four main resorts are impeccably maintained. Schlick 2000 is accessible via a 15 minute walk from the chalet (or free bus), and the Stubai Glacier (snow guarantee 10 months of the year), Elfer, and Serlesbahnen are all accessible by a free shuttle bus that stops right next to the chalet. 100% snow guarantee! You can ski and snowboard at the Stubai Glacier every month of the year except July & August. The summer activities are equally bountiful – hiking, biking, lakes, mountain carting, and rock climbing to name but a few. I've compiled a guidebook of all my favourite activities – it'll keep you busy for two weeks straight whatever the weather.
