Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then, more accommodation was added and we now have a portfolio of more than 40 properties in both Metung and the Mornington Peninsula. Their knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, holidaying in Metung for many years and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism. Sian and Peter have built an award-winning tourism business and are both “hands on” in the business, ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.

Property information

Longer stay discounts for direct bookings. Bass Vista allows us to escape from the world! We LOVE the location for its quiet solitude and our most favourite thing to do is to sit on the balcony and take in the most magnificent 180 degree views of the waters of Bass Strait and Gunnamatta Beach while sipping on a cocktail. Our children love the garden and its huge trampoline where they can play in the secure fenced garden. They flit in and out of their own lounge downstairs and watch some TV when they want to mix things up. Included in your package is a bottle of sparkling wine and small local produce hamper for you to enjoy. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside. Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. Love the trees and bushes, there are lots of interesting smells. Are those possums in the trees? And there's a special basket just for me. No way! What's in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Neighbourhood information

There are so many places to walk and wonder at the native flora and fauna (walk the Bushrangers Bay track in the late afternoon for an encounter with a Kangaroo as they leap from the lower ground to the upper right across your path). From the Cape Schanck lighthouse car park, there is a network of scenic walks and 200 metres east of Cape Schanck is the lookout where Bushrangers Bay Walk commences along the cliff tops of this untouched coastline. Along Main Creek is the Two Bay Walking Track stretching 26km through the countryside of the Mornington Peninsula. For all things food, we head to the village of FLINDERS a short drive away and especially Pier Provedore. Here we grab coffee and provisions for dinner at home. For a special evening, we head to the RACV Cape Schanck Resort where we grab a cocktail in the bar lounge and then eat at either Cape Restaurant or Samphire to complete our luxury escape.

Please note that there is a 1.7% charge when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard and 3.42% for American Express. A 50% deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of booking, and the balance at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date via credit card into the secure guest portal we provide or via BPAY. We will also require your direct email address, a photo of you holding your photo ID and a list of guest names and ages to be uploaded into the guest portal before your booking can be confirmed. Guests will receive our full terms and conditions upon booking and payment of monies will constitute agreement to these terms and conditions.
