The cool waters of the ocean protected by Fraser Island (K'gari) makes the beach a perfect place for young children. Charlton on the Esplanade is easy walking distance to some of the best cafe's, restaurants, and bars in the Hervey Bay area. Within a short walk, you will find Italian, Indian, Thai and Mexican food, there is also a Burgerie a couple of doors down. There are plenty of dining and take away options to suit all tastes all within a short walk. K'gari (Fraser Island) tours can be arranged through the office. Whale watching Tours (July - October) are available and can be booked by the office. Bundaberg is a little over an hour and a half drive away. Home to the famous Bundaberg Rum distillery and Ohana Winery, these are a must to visit.
