About this property

Situated 8 km from Lorne on the Great Ocean Road, Cumberland River Holiday park features Cedar cabins and deluxe Riverview Chalets with views of the Cumberland River and the cliffs which overhang the park. All units feature timber decking and outdoor firedrums. The accommodation comes with a flat-screen TV, gas heating, a private bathroom, and kitchenette with a small, full size fridge and oven. We can only supply one limited 7amp power point in each cabin which is only suitable for charging laptops and phones. This is due to a limited power supply, as all of the power to the park is self generated. There is a kiosk onsite which offers wood, ice, basic grocery items, ice-creams, confectionery and drinks. Guests can relax in the grounds, stroll along the riverbank, take walks into the National Park or visit the beach nearby. The holiday park offers a children's playground. Avalon Airport is 96 km from the property.

Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.6 for a two-person trip.

Beautiful location, staff were helpful. Facilities like BBQ need to be upgraded or for the superior units an outdoor BBQ would be ideal. Comfy beds and clean accommodation.

This place is my heaven on earth. Everything about it, from the river running through and the beach across the road, to the kangaroos eating grass just outside my door. Everything about this place brings me peace and happiness.

Stayed in a clean, roomy studio, with generous verandah and plenty of car parking space and easy access. The setting is protected, quiet, and very scenic, with beach over the road, walking trail along river at the other end and rocky cliffs above...

The location made it feel positively isolated. Despite the number of cabins and tent sites, it was quiet. We saw a few kangaroos grazing in the holiday park. The two bedroom cabin was spacious and had all that we needed for our one night stay.

This is a really special place. Off-grid, no phone reception, surrounded by beautiful nature - cliffs, walking tracks, the ocean! Kangaroos & birds. The cabins are homely & comfortable, the indoor fire / combustion heater a bonus. The outdoor fire...

Property information

We are an 'off-grid' camp ground with limited power supply. We generate all of our electricity with a diesel generator, as well as having a battery-inverter system for times when the generator isn't running. The electricity generated is enough for a power supply to the main park infrastructure. This includes our lighting, office, laundry equipment, water pumping and treatment. Our water is sourced from the river that runs along our camp ground. Because of this limited supply, we can only supply one power point per cabin which is enough to charge devices. There are no powered camp sites. Any other power points, or use of high consumption appliances may overload and cut out our supply to the whole park. Please understand the beautiful bush setting that we are in and the reasons why we have these restrictions.

Neighbourhood information

Cumberland River is 10 minutes drive from Lorne and Wye River in each direction. The closest shops and restaurants are in Lorne, although the office kiosk stocks basic grocery items. Children have fun paddling in the river and meeting new friends. The beach (unpatrolled) is across the road. The closest patrolled beach is in Lorne.
