The Egrets Rest is a modern accommodation situated in the heart of the Daintree Village. The house is within close walking distance to the stunning Daintree river. All people are welcome to enjoy this beautiful part of the world, with opportunities for naturalists, birdwatchers and holiday makers, fisherman and all. Come explore or relax here at the Egrets Rest. It’s a perfect place to make your base while exploring Mossman gorge, World Heritage national park, Port Douglas.
My name is Kathleen and I live in the Daintree National Park. I love living in this beautiful area and all the activities the place has to offers. I renovated Egrets Rest, as I saw the potential in this peaceful destination located in Daintree township. I hope everyone who visits Daintree discovers all its wonders and enjoys the place as much as we do.
The neighbourhood is a calm little village. Cafes, and a bar are within a walking distance from the accommodation, as well as a boat ramp, jetty, galleries and a historical walk. Daintree township also provides boat touring operations including early morning bird watching, crocodile cruises, sunset cruises and fishing charters. Fine dining, therapeutic massage and a spa are within a 5 minute drive. Also the amazing Tranquility falls is a 15 min drive into the country and a beautiful easy walk where you will be able to have a swim in the crystal clear waters. The famous World Heritage national park is only a 10 min drive where you will come to the Daintree River car ferry ( free return ferry pass for my guests). It’s a 37 km scenic drive up the the famous Cape Tribulation. Or simply relax on the verandah taking in the sounds of the birds.
