Parattah is a small village in the Oatlands area in the Southern Midlands of Tasmania, Australia. The old Tudor style building, formerly the Parattah Railway Hotel, is a truly unexpected sight emerging in the pastural landscape and is situated behind the famous railway station. This 1st floor apartment is only 5 mins drive from Oatlands. The apartment sleeps four people with two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and spa bathroom. This unique place has a style all its own. NOTE FOR SINGLES: If you are 2 people not sharing a bedroom, please enter 3 guests to access 2nd bedroom otherwise we will assume that you are a couple and only one bedroom will be prepared for you.
My wife and I moved from Perth Western Australia to Tasmania in 2022 and purchased a wonderful historic property formerly known as the Parattah Railway Hotel which we have been renovating. We will likely be here during your stay, so please feel free to ask any questions. We will be happy to give you a tour of the property but must be booked in advance.
The property is located behind the Parattah Railway Station surrounded by pastureland. The station is no longer used for passengers, and only a few slow moving freight trains go by each day or night. There is plenty of parking out front of the property. Using a car, it takes about 5 minutes to drive into Oatlands. If on foot, there is a walking trail from Parattah to Oatlands via the Dulverton Lake. The path is also suitable for cyclists.
