Guests staying at Kookaburra retreat can sit back, relax and enjoy the bush and wildlife at the properties doorstep or explore the many bush walking tracks accessible from the backyard and within the area. Kookaburra Retreat is a completely private self contained retreat adjoining our house and located on the very edge of Aussie bushland with abundant wildlife. Kookaburras will laugh with you and possums and wallabies may visit you at night. The resident brush turkeys often parade through for a visit and Panna, our cat, is always up to greeting guests, looking for a pat and a cuddle. If you are visiting family or friends, attending a local wedding, attending a course or just planning a family getaway, come and experience what Kookaburra Retreat has to offer. Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful bushland setting and wildlife at your doorstep as well as the serenity it provides. If you like peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Enjoy exploring the surrounding bushland and the many bushwalking tracks which are accessible from the backyard and within the area. The Great North Walk is very close by. Stop in overnight or stay longer and enjoy the many shorter walks on offer. Do as much or as little as you want. There is so much to discover and the stars shine so much brighter away from the city lights. You will have your own private "West Wing" with plenty of room.
We love to travel and meet new people from all over the world. We try to meet and greet all our guests whenever possible, otherwise keys will be available in the key box to enter and get settled. We are happy to assist with any requirements.
Our neighbourhood is very quiet. The local shopping centre and restaurants are nearby for all your requirements. Berowra Waters and Brooklyn on the Hawkesbury River are only a short drive away. Kookaburra Retreat is about a 45 minute drive to the city or you can relax and take the train (approx. 1 hour).
