Llarrinda Bed & Breakfast is nestled amidst breathtaking natural beauty, in the heart of the most picturesque South Gippsland countryside. It's the ultimate destination for relaxation, rejuvenation, and warm hospitality, and offers a luxurious escape from the bustle of everyday life. Llarrinda's beautifully appointed accommodation can welcome up to six guests. Every room has views across the waters of Corner Inlet to the northern peaks of Wilsons Prom National Park, and direct access to an expansive deck, where a passing parade of parrots come to feed every day. Guest rooms include the spacious Panorama Suite, with wall-to-wall windows and 180 degree views, & the super comfortable Prom Views Guest Wing, a 2-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom suite, which accommodates up to 4 people in one queen and one twin bedroom. Our, solar-powered home sits on 2.5 green, rolling acres just six minutes from the township of Foster, 30 minutes from the gates of Wilsons Prom, and 20 minutes from the pristine beaches of Waratah Bay, Sandy Point, and Walkerville. It is zoned so that guests have complete privacy. When we bought this 2.5-acre nature lover's paradise in 1997 there was little but grass and a small remnant rain forest in the gully. There was the occasional wombat and wallaby, a few Crimson Rosellas, Yellow Breasted Robins, and a cacophony of frogs, but little else. Today, as a Land for Wildlife property, we have created a habitat for a vast array of wildlife - and wildlife has rewarded us by coming in droves. At the last count, 68 species of birds & untold mammals call this land their home.
We were city dwellers when we fell in love with this part of Victoria back in 1997, while returning to Melbourne along the South Gippsland Highway after a weekend away. We took a detour to Agnes Falls, not far from here, and were wowed by the absolute beauty of the area. Subsequent visits revealed some of the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets we had ever seen. The views to Wilsons Prom are among the best views in Australia, and the nearby rainforests and deserted beaches are simply stunning. There are walks and hikes for all levels of fitness and the opportunity to spot wildlife is everywhere. We love the local cidery, wineries, art galleries, and friendly, vibrant communities - and we feel so privileged to have all of this on our doorstep. We feel especially privileged to be able to share it with our guests, and know that they will go home with fond memories of this special piece of paradise.
Foster was originally a gold mining town on the banks of Stockyard Creek. Today, it is a bustling country town at the very heart of Prom Country, just two hours' drive south east of Melbourne and 30 minutes from the gates of Wilsons Prom National Park. The town is known for its friendly hospitality and the quality of its fresh local produce. It is also known for its markets, rich arts culture, museum, gallery, vibrant performing arts group and community choirs. But the jewel in Foster's crown is its proximity to Wilsons Prom National Park - the dramatic southernmost tip of mainland Australia. Panoramic views, wild ocean beaches, rugged mountain landscapes and amazing wildlife makes it one of Australia's most loved national parks. The 130 kms of tracks offer short, day or overnight walks. We are also on the doorstep of The Great Southern Rail Trail, where people can walk or ride their bikes or horses from village to village over a distance of 104 km, from Nyora to Port Welshpool, and soon, all the way to Yarram. It is suitable for both the energetic and not-so-energetic outdoor enthusiasts. From Leongatha, the trail goes through Koonwarra, Meeniyan, Stony Creek, Buffalo, Fish Creek, Foster, Toora, Welshpool, and Port Welshpool.
