Jervis Bay, a holiday-goer's dream, is flanked by two national parks and a vibrant marine park teeming with playful sea life. On land, a network of hiking and cycling trails lead to stunning cliff-top lookouts and secluded beaches. At the southern end of the bay, Booderee National Park boasts abundant bushland and wildlife. The beaches here are postcard-perfect, with Murrays Beach and Greenpatch standing out as top choices. However, the best way to explore this beautiful part of the South Coast is by water. Wildlife cruises offer an intimate look at Jervis Bay Marine Park, a sanctuary for bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, little penguins, and migrating whales.
The beaches around Jervis Bay are exceptional, with Hyams, Greenfield, and Murrays Beach among the region’s finest. These shores are perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing, and stand-up paddleboarding. During whale watching season, this activity becomes a must-do, and for those who prefer land-based observation, Point Perpendicular Lighthouse on the northern tip and Cape St George Lighthouse on the southern side offer some of the best vantage points.
Encircling the calm waters of Jervis Bay are a series of laid-back coastal towns. Callala Beach to the north and Huskisson, Vincentia, and Hyams Beach to the south are all ideally positioned to make the most of the bay. These towns offer an unbeatable lifestyle, with seaside cottages and dreamy holiday homes just a short walk from both the beaches and village centers. The local eateries stand out with fresh seafood straight from the trawler and farmgate produce. Pubs and wine bars are nestled alongside boutique shops and art galleries, while regular fresh produce markets bring the region's best to the shores.
