and captivating Lola Montez. Lola was a 19th-century performer known for her daring spirit
and unforgettable stage presence. During the height of the gold rush, Lola made a brief yet
electrifying appearance in Castlemaine, leaving behind stories as bold as her infamous
‘spider dance’. Just as her visit was short but unforgettable, we hope your stay at Montez
