We stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary, the property is beautiful, very rural and simple though so don't expect anything grand - but that's exactly what we loved about it. Horses come to visit in the morning, wines on the patio watching...

I loved the garden, animals and walking close by, also cooking in the kitchen was made easy with the nice stove and oven. The horses were so friendly and lovely 💖 The views outside the windows were splendid! Also, the herbal sprinkle in the pantry...

The location was perfect. It wasn't in the town and it was on top of a hill overlooking farms/valleys. We were provided with utensils, Nespresso machine (owners provided us with more pods than expected even though we brought our own), bathroom was...

Amazing, beautiful old place in a very quiet location - a bit of highway noise in the distance but it's a fair way off the road so not bothersome at all. Right by a big nature reserve with lots of walking trails.

Excellent location near a natural bush reserve and close to Balingup. The view over the paddocks was lovely to wake up to. The wood burner heated the whole house very effectively. The shower delivered very hot water with excellent pressure.

As of Feb 24, we are back open after some renos, a refresh and some upgrades. Hidden away behind state forest one kilometre from the town centre of Balingup, Myrtlemae Farm is a 24-acre property that features meandering gardens and stunning views over-looking the Blackwood River Valley. The cottage, separate from the main house, is a former stables that has been meticulously re-purposed and now features a mix of mid-century Australian furniture, vintage homewares and modern furnishings, services (think comfy beds and a good shower) and appliances. As on Feb 24, we have completed some upgrades. Fresh paint, some new furniture and homewares and are back in business.
Balingup. A small but vibrant village located 2 ½ hours from Perth halfway between Donnybrook and Bridgetown, Balingup sits amongst picturesque rolling hills in the Blackwood River Valley and is surrounded by vast expanses of native forest interspersed with orchards, vineyards and farmland.
