With a background in nursing for Liz and IT for Joe we both have a passion for entertaining people. At the end of 2017 we purchased the former closed B&B Das Helwig Haus property. Over the last 3 years it has been a labor of love as we have embarked on resurrecting and refurbished the former residence and create "Sabo's On Severn". Cooking & entertaining are a core of the Sabo's ethos. We welcome you to our beautiful accommodation & guest house and truly look forward to making your get away a time to remember. We are passionate about making people feel at home and while you are at Sabo's you will be treated like one of our family. We look forward to sharing with you all the granite belt has to offer. Property information

Sabo's is a boutique accommodation & guest house in the heart of the granite belt. We have 8 rooms available for booking these include 4 well appointed in house rooms to the 4 self contained units at the back of the guest house complete with wood fires. Sabo's is set on 33 acres backing onto the Severn River. An abundance of bird life, kangaroos, our resident platypus alpacas, sheep & chickens all call this part of the world home. A seasonal dinner menu is available and great for those travelling or leaving after work and arriving late. Please ask about availability when booking. We welcome group bookings that can also be catered for by availability. Local wine tours can be organised by appointment.

Neighbourhood information

On the Granite Belt we have over 50 diverse and award winning wineries and boutique brewers, a variety of apple pear & stone fruit growers, vegetable grower’s tomatoes, eggplant, capsicum, zucchini, olives, there is also cheese and award winning jams, preserves and products. Amazing produce right on our door step and this list only touches the tip of it! There are numerous National Parks within a 30 minute drive which are spectacular unique boulders, vegetation and wildlife all awaiting you to explore. This region is also famous for its four seasons the cool to cold autumn & winter months were we enjoy regular frost and the occasional fall of snow to spring & summer with the beautiful blossoms from the fruit trees and to the mild lower humidity felt than that towards the coastal areas, this really is an area of changing colors and seasons. Local festivals include but not limited to Apple & Grape Harvest Feb - Mar 2022 Snowflakes in Stanthorpe winter 2021, Australian Small Wine makers October Annually, Granite Belt Art & Craft Trails usually around October. We also have a wonderful farmers market of a Friday full of local produce.
