Trinity Beach is a peaceful tropical paradise just 20 minutes north of Cairns and the airport. Locals love the palm-lined foreshore, safe swimming areas, and friendly community. Spend your mornings strolling the esplanade and your afternoons in the Coral Sea.
You’re also ideally placed for day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda, the Skyrail, or the Daintree Rainforest. Whether you’re here to unwind or explore, this is the perfect base for a memorable North Queensland escape.
Neighbourhood information
Trinity Beach is a relaxed and scenic coastal suburb located about 20 minutes north of Cairns CBD. It’s known for its laid-back atmosphere, calm waters, and natural beauty — making it a favourite for both locals and holidaymakers.
The beach itself is patrolled and has a stinger-net swimming enclosure during the warmer months, providing safe conditions for all ages. A palm-lined esplanade runs along the waterfront, perfect for morning walks, jogging, or catching sunrise and sunset over the Coral Sea.
Guests will find everything they need close by. The Coastwatchers Shopping Centre is just a few minutes away and includes a supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, post office, bottle shop, and medical centre — all the essentials for a comfortable stay without needing to head into town.
For coffee and breakfast, Tranquillity Café on Rabaul Street is a local favourite. L’Unico Trattoria and Trinity Beach Bar & Grill offer fantastic beachfront dining, with options ranging from wood-fired pizzas and seafood to casual cocktails by the ocean. NV Café and Tuk Tuk by the Sea are also popular spots for quick bites and fresh juice.
While Trinity Beach feels like a peaceful escape, you’re still just a short drive from the heart of Cairns. If you’d like to head into the city for dinner, shopping or a reef tour, it’s about 20–25 minutes each way by car.
Whether you’re relaxing on the sand, grabbing brunch by the waves, or watching the stars from the beach at night, Trinity Beach offers a truly local North Queensland experience.
