STRATHMORE LODGE Units 1 and 1A are individual units. Both can be combined by unlocking an internal door. Ideal for family gatherings. Situated in a residential area, guests must not engage in antisocial behaviour, ie bucks parties. The upper level, unit 1 has one large BR (Q bed ) plus one divan bed in the living area . can accommodate 4 guests. The lower level, Unit 1a, IS IDEAL FOR GUESTS WITH CHILDREN, FOR THOSE GUESTS UNABLE TO MANAGE STAIRS & FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO BRING A DOG (certain conditions apply) All bed linen and towels are supplied. Relax & enjoy panoramic ocean views over the best surf beach in Port Macquarie. Lighthouse Beach is 300 meters stroll away. Across from Strathmore Lodge is Lighthouse Beach Shopping center, great coffee shops, Pizzeria, a Malaysian restaurant, hairdressers, post office. Safe Parking, Patrolled Surf beach in summer. '' Great place to stay with a Pet dog in Unit 1A lower level , surcharge applies, easy access to the dog Friendly Beach. from full enclosed rear yard & has front access also. * Dog bags provided.
I am a reasonably fit person who walks & swims at Lighthouse Beach. * I have my own Labrador dog that loves the sea. Dogs are permitted on the leash-free dog section of the beach south of Watonga Rocks.*Local people are very friendly & the area makes for a very relaxing holiday. It is 8 minutes driving to Port Central, bus & taxi available, Airport 15 minutes. The proximity to the beach, the ever-changing ocean views (Sunrise, sunset, full moon, the passing by of the whales during their migration, the surf, the passing ships, the beauty too of being able to enjoy superb coffee & cake just across the road, a delicious pizza, fish and chips, a cooked chicken, a bottle of wine, a visit to the hairdresser. There are camel rides along the beach, the Koala Hospital, well worth a visit. For transport, the town bus service and a taxi rank are close by.
As well as the amenities mentioned, the upgraded children's playground in the corner of Blair Reserve is ideal for young families, the boardwalk through the rain forest, soccer field adjacent, and bicycle track caters for all ages.
