Property info

The Bank House is a quaint bed and breakfast located in the charming and historic town of Ulmarra in the Clarence Valley, 14 kilometres north of Grafton. The Bank House offers guests a heritage stay in a beautifully restored settlers home that has been not only a home, but the site of the original Australian Joint Stock Exchange Bank in the area in 1860s. Built in the late 1800’s on the banks of the Clarence River it is located directly across the road from the historic Ulmarra Hotel. The Bank House sleeps up to 8 guests with four spacious bedrooms. The Bradman Room, with ensuite and king size bed is named after Sir Donald Bradnam, who as legend says, played cricket in the back yard whilst on tour. The Anzac Room with a queen size bed is situated directly beside the Anzac Park. Cohen's Room named after one of the original owners has 2 single beds. Finally, The Bank Room which also has a queen size bed, is where the safe was located when the building was a bank. These 3 rooms share bathroom facilities. All rooms feature fans, heating and quality cotton bedding with beautiful antique furniture hand-picked in Northern NSW. A spacious main bathroom is also provided with a large restored dining area and lounge room, fireplace and a rustic farm style kitchen. Be amazed by the original water well that is now built into the restored timber flooring, with glass overlay filled with old bottles discovered on the grounds!
