Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then, more accommodation was added and we now have a portfolio of more than 40 properties. Their Mornington Peninsula knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism has built an award-winning tourism business. They are both “hands on” in the business ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.

Longer stay discounts available for direct bookings. this beach house is so unassuming from the outside, with its impressive front door being the only hint at a house from the road. But it is so close to everything you need for a beach holiday. We love being in the house as it wraps around a central courtyard, and the focus is a heated in-ground pool where we can't get the kids to leave no matter what we offer. We cook up a BBQ and laze in the outdoor lounge, creating our very own poolside piazza. It's so cool in summer and cosy warm in winter. Included in your package is a bottle of sparkling wine and small local produce hamper for you to enjoy. IMPORTANT TO NOTE - Property is suitable for maximum of 8 adults plus additional children. *Please note the swimming pool is heated between November and April only. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside. The courtyard garden doesn't have any grass so I always get a walk to tire me out. But there is a shady area at the side of the house that my 'hoomans' leave me when they go out, so I don't get too hot and I can feel safe. And there's a special basket just for me. No way! What's in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Neighbourhood information

The pounding ocean beaches are within walking distance but take care to swim between the flags at all times. We hardly use our car, we walk the short distance to the newly renovated Portsea Hotel for stunning food and great views and a perfect holiday vibe. We grab our coffee from Le Capucin and stroll across the lawn to take in the views of the bay. For the adventurous among us, we always book a dolphin swim, kayak or snorkelling session with BayPlay because you just can't beat being on the water (at any time of year). On warm winter days, we choose between the Farnsworth Track, Point Nepean or the Millionaires walk (where we get a sneak peek into how the rich and famous live by walking through their front gardens...for real, absolutely allowed).

Need-to-know information for guests at this property

Please note that there is a 1.7% charge when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard and 3.42% for American Express. A 50% deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of booking, and the balance at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date via credit card into the secure guest portal we provide or via BPAY. We will also require your direct email address, a photo of you holding your photo ID and a list of guest names and ages to be uploaded into the guest portal before your booking can be confirmed. Guests will receive our full terms and conditions upon booking and payment of monies will constitute agreement to these terms and conditions.
