Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The countryside will seep into your soul. The house is beautiful and sits in the heart of the Ardenne. A perfect place to relax with family and friends inside under the oak beams, or outside along the lanes and pathways across the surrounding rolling hills. We renovated the barn with a large family or group in mind and equipped it to make your stay feel special - a home away from home. If you have very small children and you want us to cover the balcony to make it a little more toddler-friendly, please let us know in advance. Enjoy!
I originally started renovating the barn and converting it to a family home in 2017 as a task on my´bucket list’. It has been a labour of love. With a local architect and craftsman we have designed and built it to be airy, spacious, light, relaxingly luxurious while also practical and part of the countryside it sits within - traditional while also modern. I hope you enjoy staying as much as I enjoyed ticking it off my ´bucket list’. I will leave my business card on the wooden plate on the gray cabinet in the kitchen. I sometimes work in areas where I cannot access my phone, so either leave a voicemail or send an SMS (I notice them most) and I will respond promptly.
Oneux sits 6km north of the world’s smallest city, Durbuy. Oneux is a French speaking rural community, caring, respectful and I find very friendly and helpful. It’s location makes it perfect for country walks, bike rides, visits to local historic sites (Durbuy and Namur being two outstanding examples) or the parks. Rivers and tourist attractions in the rolling, wooded hills of the Ardenne. If you are feeling adventurous, Luxembourg, France, Germany are all pretty close.
