Very comfortable beds. Amazing breakfasts cooked by Martha. If you are interested in birds walk along the footpath to view the Blue Jay's, Woodpeckers and Nuthatch flock around the neighbours bird feeder. Dinner at Whiskey Teller also very good.

We stayed there for 2 nights. The owners are really charming and hospitable hosts. We had a large room (consisting of 2 bedrooms + bathroom) and a beautiful homemade breakfast.

Our loyalist home was built in 1790, and is situated on the oldest road in Canada, graded in 1604. This house is steeped in history. It was the first licensed inn in Nova Scotia. Also, the barn was the last stop on the Pony Express. The house still has the original floors, 7 fireplaces, and original woodwork and main staircase. One window has a signature engraved in it with the date Nov. 4, 1851. Our "Grand Oak" is the oldest red oak tree in Nova Scotia. Our rooms are deluxe suites that have been recently updated with beautiful large ensuite bathrooms. They are named after the original inn keepers, Harris and Lawrence Hall.
We are both of Dutch ancestry. Our parents immigrated in the 1950's. We have 5 children, all grown, scattered around the world. We enjoy meeting people and sharing in their lives. We take great pleasure in making our guests have an enjoyable, stress free vacation. Our recent upgrades to our rooms making them into two suites with ensuite bathrooms, allow families to room together for a relaxing and cost effective stay.
We live on the water across from Annapolis Royal. Down the road from us is the Habitation, the oldest European settlement in Canada, built in 1605. At the end of our road is the Bay of Fundy. The region we live in is the Annapolis Valley, a rich and bountiful countryside. The area is both beautiful and historic. Hiking, whale watching, fishing, camping, canoeing, are just a few of the activities popular in our area. The nightly graveyard tour in Annapolis Royal is a must see. There you will learn about our rich history.
