Alpine Holiday Services was established in 2013 by its co-founder twin sisters, Rachel and Elizabeth.
We combine experience and expertise in holiday home rental with a strong and broad range of skills in architectural and interior design, financial services and outdoor activities. With a comprehensive network and established partners, we provide competent, in-person support and advice to both property owners and holiday makers.
Our exclusive, privately owned holiday apartments in Wengen offer guests a break from the everyday in this traditional and famous Swiss mountain resort. Our friendly staff await your arrival in our easy to find offices located just meters from the Wengen train station. Our complimentary client care services are at hand daily providing local information, facilitating bookings in the local language and delivering support throughout your stay.
We firmly believe that the guest shouldn’t have any concerns or worries surrounding their accommodation during their stay and so we’re always available to our guests, should the need arise, and operate a Virtual Concierge system for our guests via WhatsApp and SMS.
Property information
Racers Retreat 5 is a contemporary semi-detached chalet on four levels with 2/3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, open plan living-dining-kitchen and 2 balconies. The chalet is located in Innerwengen near the finishing line of the Lauberhorn World Cup Ski Races and a 1.3 kilometer walk from the Wengen train station. Wengen is a car limited village and is accessible by train from Lauterbrunnen.
The open plan living-dining-kitchen on the entrance level is charming with its exposed beams and Swedish wood burner. A double set of glass doors open out on to the spacious balcony which offers ample space to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful mountain views.
The kitchen is fully equipped including an oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, ceramic hob, filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster and fondue set.
The first floor has two bedrooms. The master with double bed, impressive double height ceiling and ensuite bathroom with bathtub and the second with two single beds and ensuite shower room. On the fourth level of the chalet is a gallery with 2 further single beds which is accessed via a wooden ladder.
On the lower level of the chalet is a shower room, laundry facilities and sauna.
Neighbourhood information
The car-free village of Wengen sits on a south facing plateau at 1,274 m above sea level, looking out onto the world famous Jungfrau mountain. The old world charm of the farming hamlet of the early 1800s still coexists in tandem with innovative 21st century ski technology. Here age old Alpine summits and inherent Swiss culture are interlaced with threads of the Belle Epoque and the folklore of the Lauberhorn Run.
Wengen is situated in the heart of the Jungfrau Region and affords a welcoming Swiss retreat from which to explore several mountain landscapes including the Jungfraujoch, the Schilthorn, the Schynige Platte, the Faulhorn and the Lobhorn. In contrast the valley lake regions of Brienz and Thun are within easy reach and for the more agile the mountain lakes, Bachsee and Oberhornsee.
