Our newy remodeled appartment is placed in a main farm house on the first floor. The ground floor of the main house serves as a visitor center and a country store. In front of the house is a lawn with a little animal zoo, leading on to a working goat farm with barns and stables, tractors, hay stacks, and of course, the goats. Lots of goats.
My childhood dream always was to have a small homestead farm. I finally fulfilled that dream at the second half of my life. I bought the property, the "grunt", in 2008 and slowly started improving it, buying the first 5 goats. I am still working on the improvement of the property, enlaging the goat herd to about 50, and raising, besides the goats, my two teenage children within the context of a farm and farmwork. I feel, that my life is more meaningfull this way, and I am satisfied to see the results.
The farm is located in the outskirst of the pleasant litle town Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, in a village like setting. From the farm one can walk to the village suqare with a bell tower, or walk to the state forest and the mountain tops behind. We also have a public swimming pool nearby which is opened in july and august. Our place is ideal for the visitors who want to experience Vallachia off the beten path, and witness the everyday life of its people. Also a stay in our farm is ideal for families with children who learn about and enjoy contact with the animals.
