Neighbourhood information
The house is located in a very small village with a few neighboured housed surrounded by fields and forests.
In the immediate and wider vicinity of our village, there are several interesting tourist destinations worth visiting. These include not only natural, historical, and recreational attractions.
Strážiště Hill
The forested Strážiště Hill (743 m above sea level), which towers as a dominant feature over our village, is associated with many superstitions and legends. According to one, bonfires were lit here in ancient times during wars or enemy raids. Thus, the hill served as a guardian of its surroundings, and this is also where its name comes from.
In 1878, a wooden observation tower was built from contributions by the Pacov association, offering a magnificent view of Pacov, Choustník, Křemešník, Humpolec, Ledeč, Blaník, and Milčín. This was replaced by a taller observation tower after thirty years. Unfortunately, that one ceased to function in 1964. Today, a television and radio transmitter stands on Strážiště.
Miraculous Spring, Chapel, and Pilgrimages
Chapel. In the 17th century, the spring below Strážiště was attributed with healing powers. As was customary then, a chapel (recently renovated) was built at this spot, and pilgrimages to the spring were held. These are now organized on the last Sunday in June. Many people still come to the spring for cool and crystal-clear water. Its peculiarity is that, when bottled, it remains unchanged in quality for up to a week.
Town of Pacov
Pacov (5,227 inhabitants) lies on the border of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and South Bohemia, between Tábor and Pelhřimov. Its oldest known history dates back to the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.
Kámen Castle
Documented written reports confirm the existence of the castle in 1316. The originally Gothic castle was repeatedly rebuilt, and the appearance of the castle surroundings also changed.
