The apartment has stunning views from the living room and south facing terrace with views of the Alps and Zugspitz, as well as meadow where in the summer you will find cows grazing. The flat has a TV, Internet, kitchen amenities and dishwasher to make life homely and easy. There is a washing machine and dryer onsite in the basement. We have just taken over this flat and have started redecorating it with decor that befits the area and hopefully contributes to our guests sense of wellbeing as well as enjoying the Bavarian culture.
John and I discovered Farchant and Garmisch-Partenkirchen last year when on a hiking holiday. We fell in love with the fantastic views of the Alps, valleys and charming villages. If you are a walker, hiker or serious mountaineer you will love this area. We are moderate walkers but aim to one day climb the Zugspitz! We purchased the Apartment after this holiday and are excited to be hosts and share the apartment with our guests, so that as many people as possible can discover this area. We love it hope you do too!
The apartment is at the edge of the village surrounded by trees and meadows. Farchant is really lovely, if you want a quiet and relaxing time with fresh air, lovely views and walks. For summer and winter there are activities nearby. Five minutes from the flat you can find an open air swimming pool (three different pools), a learner ski slope and a sport centre where football and tennis can be played. The village has a fantastic cafe with awesome cakes which do Germany's reputation as the country of 'Cafe und Cake (Kuchen) justice. There is also a charming grocery shop, Dorfladen, where you can get most groceries as well as freshly prepared food. If you fancy a trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen its easily done by train in about 5 minutes.
