Zwischen weiten Feldern die Seele baumeln lassen und sich den herben Nordwind um die Nase wehen lasse, tief durchatmen und wieder bei sich selbst ankommen - in der "Insel auf Ruegen", dem kleinen Landgasthaus auf der Ostseeinsel, entdecken Sie diese Kraft der Ruhe. Seit über 70 Jahren trotzt das reetgedeckte Bauernhaus inmitten einer Feld- und Wiesenlandschaft Wetter und Sturm. Helle Moebel im klaren Stil des Nordens und Accessoires aus dem Orient machen es mit seinen gemuetlichen Zimmern und der urigen Gaststube zu einer Oase inmitten des Alltages.

Fahren Sie über Garz, der kleinsten Stadt Ruegens, über Putbus, der weißen Stadt, nach Lauterbach, das 1816 als Seebad gegruendet wurde. Am Jasmunder Bodden liegt Ralswiek. Im einstigen Handelshafen finden die Stoertebeker-Festspiele auf der Naturbuehne mit Blick auf die See statt. Auf der Halbinsel Jasmund mit dem gleichnamigen Nationalpark befinden sich die beruehmten Kreidefelsen. Aus 117 Metern Hoehe koennen Besucher die Faszination Caspar David Friedrichs nachempfinden, der sich 1818 zu einem der beruehmtesten Gemaelde der Romantik inspirieren ließ. Die 1895 in Betrieb genommene Schmalspurbahn Rasender Roland faehrt heute mit gemuetlichen 30 km von Putbus nach Goehren. Sie sehen das Jagdschloss Granitz des Fuersten Wilhelm Malte I. zu Putbus, das seit seiner durch Karl-Friedrich Schinkel durchgefuehrten Vollendung 1846, ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel ist.
