If you like nature and don't mind a more primitive way of living then this little rustic house from year 1947 is the place for you. It's a small, cozy house located in a small village called Dokkedal. It has a low ceiling and a fireplace as your main heating source. Therefore in the cold season your ability use a fireplace is key for a comfortable stay as that is how the house is heated. I'll make sure to make the bed for you before your arrival. Everything you'll need is in the house such as towels, cotton swabs, cotton, toilet paper, tea towels, cloths, soaps, toothpaste, etc. There is also firewood and matches in the house for the stove and/or the campfire. And besides that, there is also free coffee and tea, ice cream in the freezer, as well as spices and basic items in the kitchen that you can enjoy during your stay. There is one double bed that fits two people and a couch/sofa that fits one person. I do have two luxury mattresses that can be delivered to the house and made ready for you for extra payment in case you want to bring your kids. Dogs are allowed. Therefore you should not book this house if you have pet allergies.
I am from Iceland, living in Dokkedal where I have two houses. One that I live in and this one right here that I rent out. I have two old street dogs (Selma and Noah) and four rescue cats (Uriel, Nala, Frida and Vilde). We all used to live in the little rustic house for 7 years before getting the second house. Therefore my dogs and cats all think it's their home still and you'll most likely meet a cat or two during your stay. It is fully up to you weather you want to let them in or not as there is a cat door that you can open or lock depending weather you want cat company or not. I love nature, winter bathing, calisthenics, knitting icelandic sweaters and selling them on Etsy, dumpster diving, sea kayaking and cooking food from scratch. So much so that I used to own my own food trailer and restaurant. Now I work as a chef in Aalborg and also do sales in the food industry. Besides that I am a musicians (MA in soundproduction from Aalborg University).
You'll be staying in Dokkedal, a village with only 200 people. The house is right next to "Mulbjerge" which is a 130 hectare of protected nature area with beautiful grass hills. You have the view from the house to the highest hill called "Gulhøj". Perfect area for hiking or walking your dog. And the perfect thing is that you have your own entrance to this nature area directly from the house and a view to the hills from the house. The beach is only 400 meters away from the house. Well, let's say the coastline because the beach is not a guaranteed thing in Dokkedal due to the varying water levels dictating what kind of beach it will be if any. But there is a beautiful bridge into the ocean where you can enjoy the view of Kattegat. Close by is also the very well known nature area called "Lille Vildmose" which is famous for bird watching and seeing mooses, wild pigs and other animals. Øster Hurup is 10 km away and offers a lot of restaurants, ice cream shop, supermarket and different beautiful beaches. Aalborg is the fourth-biggest city in Denmark and is the largest city in the northern part of Jutland. It's only a 30 km drive away from the house.
