When you arrive at Eeri Siwa Oasis, you don’t just find a guesthouse — you step into a story that began more than two decades ago. My brother and I first came to Siwa with our parents in 1999, and from the very first days, this oasis became our second home. Over the years, I grew up with the kindness of the Siwan people around me, seeing different generations and learning how life here moves at its own gentle pace. My father bought our land in 2005, and by 2006 we started building a small family house. Year by year, we expanded it — adding more rooms, more space, and more of our heart — until it naturally grew into what is now Eeri Siwa Oasis. The property is surrounded by a huge garden filled with palms, ancient olive trees, fruit trees, herbs, flowers, and desert plants. It’s a place where nature and people meet. In the morning, you may hear birdsong or see the garden come alive with soft desert light. In the evening, you can sit under the palms, drink Siwan tea, and watch the stars unfold above you — the way people in Siwa have done for centuries. The house itself is built in the traditional Siwan mud style, which keeps the rooms cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Every corner is decorated with antiques, handcrafts, and vintage furniture collected with love over the years. Each item has a story — a window into the culture and heritage of Siwa. What makes Eeri Siwa Oasis unique is not just its beauty or design, but its soul. This is not a luxury resort where life is about what you wear or how things look. Here, life is about simplicity, connection, and authenticity. Guests are welcomed as friends, not customers. I enjoy guiding people to discover the hidden side of Siwa — the salt lakes where the water is so clear you float effortlessly, the hot springs that have soothed locals for centuries, the secret sunset spots known only to a few, the ancient temples that whisper stories of history, and the quiet gatherings in gardens where life is shared simply.
Welcome to Eeri Siwa Oasis. My name is Hamed, and I am the owner and host of this guesthouse. Hosting here is not just my job — it’s my passion, my way of life, and a continuation of a story that began when I was a child. I first came to Siwa in 1999 with my family — my parents, my brother, and me. I was only three years old at the time, but even then something about this oasis touched me deeply. I grew up between two worlds: the city life of Alexandria where I was born and raised, and the timeless life of Siwa where we spent so much of our time. In Siwa, I learned simplicity, hospitality, and connection. I saw the way generations of Siwans carried their traditions, the way they lived with the land, and the way they treated visitors not as strangers but as guests of honor. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how modern life and tourism have touched Siwa — bringing change, opportunity, but also challenges. Yet, what has always remained is the heart of the Siwan people, their kindness, their humor, their deep sense of community. These are the values I carry into hosting at Eeri Siwa Oasis. In 2005, my father bought a piece of land here, and in 2006 we started building a small mud-brick family house. It wasn’t built to be a guesthouse — it was built with love, to be our home. But year by year, as friends, travelers, and family came to stay with us, the house grew. We expanded the rooms, added more space, and slowly realized that what we were building was bigger than just a house. We were building a place of welcome. That’s how Eeri Siwa Oasis was born — naturally, from our family’s love of this land and this community. What I enjoy most about hosting is sharing the real Siwa with people. Not just the main tourist sites, but the hidden gems — the salt lakes where you can float effortlessly, the hot springs where people gather in the evenings, the secret sunset spots that few know, and the small gatherings in gardens where you taste fresh dates, olives, and tea with mint.
Eeri Siwa Oasis is located in one of the most authentic and peaceful corners of Siwa, right beside Dakrour Mountain – a place famous among locals for its healing hot sands, breathtaking sunsets, and quiet atmosphere away from the busy town center. From here, you wake up surrounded by palm groves, olive trees, and the pure desert air. At night, the sky above Dakrour fills with stars so clear that you feel the desert silence embracing you. The neighborhood is a perfect balance between serenity and accessibility. Within a short walk or bike ride, you can reach natural hot springs, salt lakes where the water keeps you afloat effortlessly, and ancient pathways leading to hidden Siwan villages. The historic center of Siwa, with Shali Fortress and traditional markets, is only a few minutes away by tuk-tuk or bicycle. Guests love that they can explore freely during the day and return to the calmness of Dakrour in the evening. Staying here allows you to connect with the true spirit of Siwa. Locals in this area still keep their traditional lifestyle, farming dates and olives and welcoming travelers with warm smiles. The sounds of donkeys passing and children playing blend naturally with the rustle of palm leaves in the wind. It is a place where time feels slower, giving you space to reflect and recharge. For those who want both adventure and rest, the neighborhood offers it all: desert safaris, sandboarding, ancient temples, crystal-clear salt pools, and quiet corners for meditation or yoga. Whether you are drawn by the healing traditions of Dakrour Mountain, the natural wonders of Siwa, or the cultural richness of its people, this location is an ideal starting point. Eeri Siwa Oasis is not just accommodation – it is a home at the edge of the desert, where nature, history, and hospitality come together. Here, every step outside your door invites you into a story that has been unfolding for thousands of years.
