El Real de la Jara is a Spanish municipality in the province of Seville, Andalusia, in the heart of the Sierra Morena region. A small mountain town with an old castle, popular for serving as a passage for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago from the capital of Seville. This town impresses with its landscapes within the Sierra Morena Natural Park. In addition, it has an exquisite gastronomy in which products made from Iberian pork are the local specialty. Their cheeses and delicious artisan pastries are also classics. Its two traditional dishes are caldillo and fried guarrino. The remains of its castle, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, the parish church of San Bartolomé and the hermitage of Los Remedios are part of its interesting historical heritage.
