Out of all the 21 municipalities of Gran Canaria Telde shares third place with Agaete in terms of number of beaches. Its eight playas are mainly a place for diving, swimming, sailing, take sun and have a meal in the open air. Melenara beach is excellent and spacious; the dark volcanic sand warms up nicely and the sea floor is soft sand. There are nice seafood restaurants around .
