Parador de Oropesa
About this property
Come and experience the rich history of this ancient, hilltop castle and tower, located in the beautiful Castillian countryside to the west of Madrid. The Parador de Oropesa is set in the former ancestral home of the Counts of Oropesa, located in the shadow of the Sierra de Gredos mountains. Over the centuries, its Medieval cloisters and towers have accommodated aristocracy, bishops and soldiers. Nowadays, the hotel provides luxury accommodation whilst still retaining many charming, historic features. In the guestrooms, rich fabrics blend with antique-style furnishings and more modern amenities. Enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding landscape as you bathe in the outdoor swimming pool. In the evenings, head to the atmospheric hotel restaurant to try the typical local cuisine, made with fresh, seasonal produce.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.5 for a two-person trip.
