Cottage Aapola is custom-built for its location. This means that the cottage is designed to blend in with nature, respecting the local ecosystem. Aapola is designed so that you can make the most of the sunlight for your holiday. The cittage offers a tranquil setting, where you can unwind and connect with nature. Aapola has not one but two traditional Finnish wood-heated saunas with access to the clear waters of lake Saimaa, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip. The cottage also has its own private fire pit outside for cozying up. The cottage area is designed to enhance your relaxation and retreat.
Hello! I’m Paula, and I have been living on this beautiful island surrounded by clean waters and changing seasons for 35 years. My passions include enjoying the unique archipelago landscape with my two small dogs and being part of the Puumala community through various organizations. In my free time, I like picking mushrooms and baking . Besides this company, I also run the popular island restaurant Niinipuu, which focuses on local food and serves as a reception for our cottages in the summer. Hosting is my main business and a way of life for me. I truly enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, being a good host and sharing my culture with guests. I feel it is a privilege for me to share my own lifestyle, our clean nature and our unique accommodations with my guests.
You can find good lists about activities, restaurants and places of interest from Puumala's tourism site, look up "visitpuumala". We recommend Norppapolku-hiking trail & Saimaa geopark destinations. We are glad to help you plan your holiday and give additional information about local sightseeing, activities, shopping etc.
