A fully restored "longère" (main building of an old farmstead) that dates back to the XIIth century, the house overlooks the gentle slopes of the highest hill in the area (360m). The house offers a homely atmosphere - complete with a functioning fireplace - while the swimming pool, the garden and barbeque provide for outdoor leisure. The two suites are located upstairs and overlook the same view as the dining and living rooms, right onto the hills and garden. The house is conveniently located 30 minutes away from the A77 motorway, and 20 minutes away from the picturesque town of Sancerre, built on a hilltop and overlooking the famous namesake wine-making region.
A therapist in private practice, I make a special point of welcoming whomever comes at Bair Nestad in a warm and comfortable house where quiet, relaxation and satisfaction will be found. I'm happy to share my knowledge of the local restaurants, wine-makers, cultural stops, photography spots and history to make anyone's stay both pleasant and a change of scenery.
20 minutes away from the Loire river, Burgundy lies 25 minutes away driving, and the famous building site of Castle of Guédelon - the reconstruction of a medieval castle begun in 1995 - an extra 20 minutes away. the nearest Loire Château lies 2 hours away, while the medieval city - and once capital of the kingdom of France -, Bourges, European capital of Culture in 2028 is located 1 hour away driving. The area is rife with winemakers, forests, a golf course and outdoor activities, pottery artisans (La Borne, Saint Amand en Puisaye) and other understated surprises.
