Company information

At the beginning of the 18th century, the Sénailhac family owned the château. This family is close to Louis XV who appointed one of them, Jacques de Sénailhac, as a counselor at La Cour des Aides in 1740. His son, Raymond de Sénailhac, inherited this task on his father's death. The name died out during the Revolution with Marguerite, daughter of Raymond. She married M. de Beynette, an emigrant during the Revolution, from whom she divorced in 1794, which allowed her to retain ownership of the castle, which was not sold as National Property like many castles at the time. His daughter, then his granddaughter, Madame Mantl, in turn became the owner of Sénailhac. In 1845 and 1846, Mr. Mantl remodeled and restored the castle. The south facade was then rebuilt and flanked by two turrets. In the 19th century, the château was sold many times, until 1918, when the château was bought by a family of wine merchants from Marseille. In 2000, Grands Vins de Gironde, a Bordeaux wine trading company, became the owner. The castle was fully restored and decorated from 2001 to 2006. The guest rooms opened in 2009.
