The OVO Network team’s opinion - Chalet Grand Soir is a contemporary, three-storey chalet for 12 guests (10 adults). There are six bedrooms, each of which has its own bath or shower room and WC. Four of the double rooms also open on to a balcony , where you can enjoy magnificent views over your morning coffee! There's another double room and a bunk room which is perfect for two children. The spacious living area on the first floor is light and bright, thanks to the huge windows and doors to the terrace. The Scandi-style decor makes for a very relaxing ambiance - get together on the sofas around the suspended woodburner or enjoy a delicious mountain meal together at the dining table. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cater for a large group, and there's a breakfast bar with stools where you can grab a snack. Doors lead from here out on to the wide, wraparound terrace, where you'll find a sheltered seating area where you can enjoy the fresh air whatever the weather. There's also another dining table for meals under the stars. Just around the corner is the Nordic bath -  it's like a hot tub but without the bubbles!  However it's the perfect place to enjoy a glass of fizz while you enjoy the views. There's a useful laundry room on the ground floor, as well as storage for your outdoor clothing and a garage with a ski rack and boot warmer. The charming village of Combloux is just a 15-minute walk away, and with Megeve, La Giettaz and Sallanches all just a short drive away, there's plenty  to explore. As well as great skiing, there are wonderful hiking and biking trails in the area, and Combloux has a delightful man-made swimming lake, which is a great family day out. Just a 15-minute walk from the centre of Combloux, Chalet Grand Soir is in a great location for guests who want to explore the wonderful Mont Blanc area without having to rely on their car. Along with Megève and Saint-Gervais, Combloux is part of the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which has 400km of pistes. If that's not enough, you can explore another 192km of pistes in the Espace Diamant, just a 20-minute drive away. This domaine takes in the resorts of Praz-sur-Arly, Bellecombe, Crest-Volant, Flumet, and Saisies. Experienced skiers looking for some stunning night skiing should head for the Vallée Blanche – do hire a guide for this 23km run which, with a 2,000m drop, will take you from the Aiguille du Midi to the Mer de Glace, an almost surreal experience under a full moon. For a change from skiing, why not try dog-sledding or snow-shoe walking, which are both available within a short drive of Le Primpiolet. For a little more adventure, why not try ice-climbing, via ferrata or paragliding! When the snow melts, the mountains become the domain of walkers and cyclists. There's so much to see in this varied landscape – explore the Argentière glacier or perhaps the Baroque footpath, a 20km trail from Combloux to Les Contamines-Montjoie which takes you past some of the area's finest baroque buildings. Look out for marmots along the way! Fancy a swim? The man-made ecological lake at Combloux (open June to September) is just a five-minute drive from Chalet Grand Soir. Relax in the pure waters fed by mountain streams or enjoy a picnic surrounded by wildflowers and stunning views of Mont Blanc. Children will love the great play area, and there's also a sauna and a hammam, as well as a restaurant. Golfers can take advantage of the great courses at Chamonix and Megève, and the Mont d’Arbois course is only 8.5km away..
