Chateau L’haurie is located in the pretty village of Rivehaute in the Bearn region also on the borders of the pays Basque.   Ideally situated within an hour’s drive from both Pau and Biarritz airports. Pau with its historical Chateau and panoramic mountain views ( Boulevard des Pyrenees ),   Biarritz with its beautiful coastline with sandy beaches, a surfers’ paradise.  The Chateau is also a one-hour drive from Spain through the magnificent Pyrenees mountains.   The chateau offers 5 Bedrooms, 4 bathrooms,  a large living room, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, utility room and a billiard/games room.  Outside the Chateau offers a walled, secure park with a heated swimming pool,  ample room for children to play with football goals available and table tennis.   You can also enjoy a BBQ on a warm summer evening.    The large park is beautiful including palm trees and their own driveway.  The Chateau is a particular ideal for families with young children that want to holiday together.

The village of Rivehaute is quintessentially French, with a beautiful old church, a local pharmacy, a medical centre, and a local doctor close by. The village also benefits from a sports ground where you can play football, tennis and basketball all for free, the sports ground also being close to the river for nice walks, fishing and paddling. Within a short 15-minute drive you have a choice of 4 other local historical villages : Sauveterre de Bearn, Salies de Bearn ( the Venise of Bearn ),Navarrenx and Mauleon, all with great village life including bars, restaurants, boulangeries, local shops and Supermarkets, you even have a weekly market at each town to enjoy local produce and arts and crafts. There are many activities in the area you can enjoy such as river rafting, salmon fishing, hiking, canoeing and even paragliding. Slightly further afield, but still within half and hours’ drive , you will find wine producing areas ( Jurancon and Irouleguy ) and a cheese route ( Brebis ).
