The stables is a stunning conversion in a wine growing village in the Languedoc. Situated in Laurens, between the Caroux mountains and the Mediterranean, the stables will provide you with a luxurious base to explore this vast wine growing region in the beautiful South West of France.
Guest accommodation is situated in the beautifully renovated stables attached to our Maison de Vigneron incorporating a huge open plan living space (75m2), dotted with a mixture of antique furniture and modern additions. Benefitting from a chic handmade kitchen, sitting and dining space – the ground floor is a stunning introduction to this home from home. And - this wouldn’t be France without its private terrace for those summer evenings dining alfresco.
Off the living space you will find a separate utility room with washing machine, sink & WC with hand basin.
On the first floor, you have two double bedrooms, each with ensuite shower-rooms – along with air-con, and a mix of antique and modern furniture. On entering the first bedroom you are immediately faced with eye-catching floor to ceiling windows opening onto the private roof-terrace and having views of the hills and villages beyond.
The second bedroom features a mezzanine allowing plenty of natural light, with a double bed that separates to create two singles.
Outside, the fabulous “dry-garden” – designed and planted by Gaynor – leads you through the amazing fauna to shady spots for those quiet moments with a book and a glass of our local wine. And of course – the swimming pool! Safely enclosed behind a gated wall, you will find our pool – exclusively yours during your stay. At 10x4m – and a single depth of 1.5m - the pool features a “paddling beach” for cooling off whilst soaking up the sun.
The facilities offered can comfortably accommodate up to six guests; with the two double bedrooms being supplemented by a full size sofa bed in the open plan living space.
Welcome to our beautifully converted stable, of which we are very proud! I live on-site with my husband Kevin in our adjoining family home...and so are always on hand for advice on how to get the most out of the surrounding area. We have lived here for five years, and are very happy to make recommendations or reservations for activities, restaurants, beaches, and exploring the vast vineyards on our doorstep on foot or on bike!
The stables is located in the ancient village of Laurens in the heart of the Languedoc. Nestling amongst the rolling vineyards between the Caroux mountains and the Mediterranean coast, we are blessed with a fabulous climate, clean fresh air and plenty of wine to enjoy! A fundamental way of life down here.
Within 30 minutes you can be lying on a Mediterranean beach, hiking in the mountains or exploring the Cathar castles, the Canal du Midi, and historic towns - Beziers, Pezenas, Narbonne - and a little further afield Montpellier, Carcassonne and Toulouse.
As you would expect of this gastronomic region we have an abundance of restaurants around us, with budgets for all tastes and occasions.
Whether you are a hiker, biker, or runner - whatever your energy levels - our breathtaking landscape offers a labyrinth of hills, roads, trails and vineyards to explore.
Being on holiday doesn't mean you need to leave your sports gear behind: in the vicinity we have tennis, golf, padel, canoeing, tree-top adventures - and many more opportunities to stay fit whilst away from home!
