We loved this little gem. It was very quirky and also like an old fashioned museum, so I get it’s not to everyone’s taste, but we liked it because it was different. The owners were so lovely and welcoming. They made dinner and we all ate together...

We really enjoyed our stay and received a very kind, warm welcome. Very different and quirky building which was comfortable and perfect as an overnight stay whilst cycling in the Ardeche. We also enjoyed the evening meal with delicious home...

Lovely interesting and quirky old building with an unusual history. We had a memorable, comfortable night and fun playing with the train track with our two year old who was over the moon about seeing it. Also enjoyed seeing the collection of...

Such a unique place. It's not for everyone, it looks more like one of those stopover gite for hikers, everyone is having dinner together and the bathrooms are shared ! BUT! it's so quirky and the house is beautiful. Our bedroom was huge,...

Sehr interessantes, historisches Gebäude. Der marode Charme hat uns gefallen. Freundlicher, unkomplizierter Empfang. Abendessen war reichlich und sehr lecker.

Company information

I am Tonny, the owner of Domaine de l'Amiral. I try to create a casual atmosphere where everyone can feel at home. In summer I welcome guests fulltime, however, in winter there is room to renovate the house and work on my sculptures next to welcoming guests.

Property information

Domaine de l'Amrial is a bed and breakfast in an old building dating from at least the 19th century. It has been used for many different activities including silk farming. The last owner was a vice-admiral in the French navy fighting on the Japanese front in the second world war. With its arched entrance, the building has a unique style. We do not offer the greatest luxury, but we do offer a warm and casual atmosphere where there is room to meet other people.

Neighbourhood information

We live on the border of a small French town that offers everything you expect: small bar & restaurant, a wood-oven bakery, a butcher, a Tabac and a livingroom-sized grocery shop. Living on the border of the town offers the opportunity to start hikes through the mountains from our Bed and Breakfast.
