Company information

The Domaine has been lovingly restored to provide three stylish and comfortable gites. Each gite offers very spacious accommodation. The grounds surrounding the Domaine are tranquil and offer wonderful views of the surrounding wildlife, countryside and mountains. There are many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area; including the beautiful Mediterranean beaches. This is our first venture into running a holiday rental business and we want all of our guests to love the Domaine as much as we do. We welcome any feedback that will make stays more enjoyable for future guests. We live at Domaine Saladry alongside our guests and are on hand to offer advice, information and maps to anyone staying or can respectfully provide guests peace and quiet if required. We have a VW 8 seat minibus which we use to transport guests (subject to prior arrangement)

Property information

Domaine Saladry is more than 200 years old, a traditional French farmhouse 20 mins from Carcassonne and 45mins from Toulouse. It has been renovated to provide 2, 3, and 4 bedroom gites offering stylish accommodation for up to 18 people. Surrounded by 8 acres/3 Ha of mature landscaped gardens with a new 14 x 7 metre pool, sun terraces and fully equipped pool house. The Domaine is located in the Aude valley close to Carcassonne and next to the Canal du Midi at Villepinte and can be easily accessed from Autoroute A61(J22) and Carcassone and Toulouse Airports. Each Gite has access to dining areas in the grounds with gas fired BBQ's. We have a large shaded hanger (170m2) with games including table tennis, giant jenga, darts and bar football, this space is also great for an evening aperitif!. There are Children’s swings; and benches to relax in the grounds and enjoy the spectacular views of the Pyrenees and Black Mountains. Bikes are available for a ride in the local countryside; through the vineyards and sunflowers or alongside the Canal du Midi. Many attractions are within 1 hour: the Mediterranean coast, Cathar castles, Medieval villages, the Pyrenees

Neighbourhood information

Stunning 360 deg panoramic mountain views of the Pyrenees and Black Mountains, in summer; the Domaine is usually surrounded by Sunflowers and vines. The Canal du Midi; a UNESCO World Heritage site is 600m away - take a stroll or rent a bike and have a coffee or lunch at a Canal lockside Cafe or Restaurant. Medieval villages and Cathar castles, including Carcassonne Cite are very close by. In the Black mountains there are numerous freshwater lakes surrounded by Pines, these are the source of the Canal du Midi, take a lakeside stroll or follow a hiking or MTB trail. The regional parks at the Mediterranean coast near to Narbonne are an hour away - watch the birdlife including Flamingo's and Pelicans. Toulouse; France's 4th largest City is 1 hour away, visit the Space museum at Cite Espace, arrange a tour of the Airbus facility, or wander through the old town. There are many gastronomic specialities, most notably Cassoulet, also visit one of the local markets, the most famous being Revel; which has been held every Saturday since the 1300's.
