A beautiful, light and airy gite with two double bedrooms. Downstairs there is a large, fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area area, a separate cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, small sofa and large sofa bed, and a downstairs utility room, with washing machine and toilet. Upstairs the landing leads to the bathroom with bath, shower and second toilet, and two generous, double bedrooms, with double beds, wardrobe and chests of drawers. and the option for single beds if required. The gite has its own entrance and the kitchen / dining room leads directly to a large private garden with west-facing terrace. The property is full of history and character and dates back to the 1730s. Special features include a stunning chimney breast, original wooden beams and bedroom views across to the woodlands of the Rance Valley. This peaceful area has excellent rural walks, wild life in abundance and charming villages close by.
We are artists and musicians originally from Wales and the Shropshire borders, UK. We moved to Brittany in 2017. We are keen gardeners and environmentalists.
La Belle Maison is the hamlet of Baumelin in the beautiful Rance Valley, 2 kilometres from Guenroc village and 20 kilometres south of the wonderful mediaeval town of Dinan. At our door step are spectacular walks through the woodlands along the Rance Valley to the Barrage de Rophemel. We are 35 minutes drive from the spectacular Emerald Coast, with seaside towns of Dinard and Saint Lunaire, the famous port town Saint Malo and beautiful beaches at St. Cast le Guildo and St. Jacut de la Mer. Just 12 kilometres from the large lake of Betineuc, with water sports, swimming, fishing and sailing. 5 minutes walk from the private Chateau de Beaumont, 10 minutes drive from the Chateau de Couellan, Caulnes, with beautiful gardens, and 35 minutes from medieval chateau of Combourg.
