The gîte is adjacent to the 16th century Chateau des Fouilloux, surrounded by large grounds, woods & farm land often covered in a blanket of sunflowers during the summer months. The small gîte is fully equipped and ideal as a bolt hole for those wishing to explore the region. The lake ‘beaches’ of the Haute Charente are within easy reach, ideal on a summer’s day. There are also many cognac & pineau distilleries which offer visits & tastings.
Sophie & Ray live in the chateau with their two children after relocating from London 3 years ago. We look forward to welcoming you.
The chateau is 10 minutes drive from the town of La Rochefoucauld, with its bars, cafés & restaurants, under the shade of the historic 11th century Chateau de La Rochefoucauld. The city of Angoulême is 25 minutes away, with its links to Bordeaux & Poitiers airports. Limoges airport is 1hr away.
