Honeysuckle Hideaway is situated in the midst of tranquil farmland but there are lovely towns and villages to explore within a short drive or bike ride. We are based 6km from the small town of Ceaucé, very near to the Orne/Mayenne border. There are good road links from the nearest port of Cherbourg, which is just over 2 hours away by car. Being close to the Géoparc Normandie-Maine makes Honeysuckle Hideaway the perfect base for exploring the protected area of forest and bocage. The local area is renowned for cider and perry making. There are a number of family run farms who encourage tasting sessions. Book with us for a relaxing, peaceful holiday
Having been born in UK and English speaking. We always look forward to meeting people from around the world. We enjoy learning about different cultures and philosophies. Whilst introducing people to the French countryside and the beautiful villages in the area. We have visitors and friends from Poland, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, England, Belgium. France. Learning from others nations has opened our lives up to art, literature and music. Our love of music has taken us to concerts across Europe. Where we have spent many happy hours finding new bands and styles of music. We adore animals and love meeting new furry friends. With over 30 years professional experience in animal care we understand how important the right environment is for all the family to relax.
Guests enjoy the location of Honeysuckle Hideaway as it gives them the perfect base to explore. Situated on the Orne/Mayenne boarder the property provides beautiful country side, Privacy, and a relaxation. Pay a visit to Domfront en poiraie which host a selection of smaller festivals through out the year. Or visit Mayenne with it scenic river walks. Both of these locations are just a 30 minute drive from Honeysuckle Hideaway. Bagnoles de l'Orne hosts local retailers and offers access to the casino located on the lake for evenings out. The world famous sight of Mont Saint Michel is just an hour and half's drive. Walk through the beautiful walled streets and visit the amazing abbey. Situated one and half hours drive south you come to Le Mans. As every car enthusiast knows Le Mans hosts the 24 hour rally which welcomes drivers from across the globe. For a taste of city life Rennes is also located one and a half hours drive. There are fascinating museums mixed with restaurants, bars, and shops. If you are traveling through France and need a place to rest. Honey suckle hideaway offers the perfect place to unwind.
