The property was delightful as were Adriane & Walter. They provided a delicious evening meal and local wines at a very reasonable price. Breakfast also looked great although I just had coffee & freshly squeezed orange juice.

La Cour des Délices consists of a characteristic 300 year old Burgundian farmhouse and a monumental barn converted into a residential house in a walled estate. In the authentic farmhouse are 3 guest rooms with bathroom en suite, furnished with comfortable box spring beds, beautiful bedding, art, photography, antique and design lamps. All rooms overlook the courtyard with terraces, lawn and swimming pool. Room Clarette has the possibility to place an extra bed for a minimum stay of 2 nights. La Cour des Délices is located in a rustic village in the middle of the countryside. An advanced WiFi network with optical fiber covers the whole guesthouse and the garden. At 13 km distance in Ancy-le-Franc is a charging station for electric cars. La Cour des Délices is located 17 km from train station Nuits-sous-Ravières.
Everything in La Cour des Délices exudes love for life and we enjoy the little everyday things. Ariane can often be found in the garden, picking herbs, pruning roses or watering the many plants in pots. With a background in art, her sense of decorating and cooking fits well with life in La Cour des Délices. Summer outdoor dining on the large covered terrace is a wonderful way to end the day. All guests are welcome to join our table d'hôtes. We speak Dutch, good French, German and English and reasonable Spanish. Furthermore we are sportive and hiking, biking, running and golfing are nearby. In the low season we like to go to higher places for a few days and can be found on the ski slopes about 4 hours drive away.
At 15 minutes drive are three castles, Tanlay, Maulnes and Ancy-le-Franc. Picturesque towns 25-40 minutes away include Tonnerre, Chablis, Noyers and Saumur-en-Auxois. Sunday morning the Burgundian market in Chablis is a must. An hour's drive away are Flavigny and Vezelay and also worth a visit. At 50-60 minutes drive are the cities of Troyes and Auxerre, 75-85 minutes Dijon and Beaune. For wine lovers, La Cour des Délices is a centrally located base between different wine regions. At 20-30 minutes drive you will find the vineyards of the Cremant de Bourgogne and the Champagne region respectively. The vineyards of Chablis are half an hour's drive away. Cyclists can choose from a flat course along the Canal de Bourgogne (15 min away) or opt for a challenging hilly course directly from Gigny. In Gigny are several small businesses, a Proximarché village supermarket (Tuesday-Sunday), a local vegetable grower who opens up shop twice a week in the fields, a local cheesemaker opens her shop in the farm three times a week, and a pre-order Italian take away diner. In nearby Laignes at 6 km is restaurant L'Imprevu, open for dinner from Wednesday - Saturday.
